Bible Reading Plan - 1 Samuel 1, Isaiah 46, Revelation 3-4
Go In Peace (1 Samuel 1:17)
Have you ever found yourself super busy and just going through a routine. This happens to me form time to time in my relationship with God. I want to do what is right so I get up spend time reading the Bible and praying. Than I go about my busy day still carrying all the concerns and stresses of the day on my shoulders.
In reading 1 Samuel 1:17 this morning I realize that this is not what God intends for us at all. It says in this portion of the story that the Priest told Hannah this simple phrase. " Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have made to him".
How many times do we come to God and talk with Him and walk away still anxious about the day still wondering if things are going to work out and not experiencing any peace. The Bible says in Romans that the kingdom of God is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. We must understand that God really does want to answer our prayers and that when we come to Him in prayer there is an exchange that takes place, my fear and anxiety for His peace and joy.
When this exchange takes place in prayer I can get up like Hannah did walk away in peace knowing that God is going to grant me my request. As we approach our times of prayer with this perspective not only will we see more answered prayers but we will experience more peace in our life as we wait on God to come through time and time again.
What things are you anxious about right now? There is no better time than this moment to take them to God and expereince the peace and the break through He has for you.
I would love to hear your feed back.
