Nothing Else Matters

It’s Thanksgiving Day and as I sit here thinking about my life and all that God has done I have to say I truly am thankful. I am thankful for everything He has done in my life and is still continuing to do.

Its usually around this time that I start to think about Christmas shopping and all the things I want for Christmas and the things I am going to buy other people for Christmas (have I ever mentioned that I love gifts). This year though things are very different. All I can think about is URBAN and how God is going to use URBAN in 2009 to change lives and America’s Finest City.

As I think about this I realize nothing else matters to me. The Christmas gifts don’t matter what I want doesn’t matter and what I think doesn’t matter. God has me living in my dream and the only thing that matters is fulfilling the dream and getting my family to fulfill it with me. It is this God dream that keeps me awake at night and that motivates me to do everything that I do. I am reminded of a line in the movie Astronaut Farmer, “you are a brilliant man, you have your whole family dreaming together”.

That line in the movie has quickly become one of my life’s mottos. It is my desire to get people dreaming together, to live for Jesus Christ and for them to help others begin to fulfill the purpose that God has given them.

This is URBAN this is what I am living for and nothing else matters.
