Daily Bible Reading - Deuteronomy 26, Psalm 117-118, Isaiah 53, Matthew 1
Trust the Lord
This month we have been doing a series out of the book of Philippians. This weekend we discussed that Philippians 3 shows us that joy comes through having our confidence in the Lord. I am reminded of this once again as I read through Psalm 118. Verses 8 and 9 say "Is is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes."
The reality is that if we put our confidence in people, whether it be family or friends, they will eventually let us down. None of us are perfect, despite all our good intentions. We see in Matthew 5:48 (NKJV) that our heavenly Father is perfect. We can put our trust in Him, He will never let us down.
Take a moment today and every day to have a conversation with the Lord. As you do this you are putting your focus on Him rather than on yourself or others. When you pray you are communicating that your trust is in the Lord to guide you through your day, to protect you and give you the wisdom you need in every decision you will have to make. Trust in Him today, He won't let you down!
