Today I picked up my girls from school and decided to take them to Yogurtland (the yummiest place on earth for the $). I helped my daughters pick out their three favorite flavors while Katie and I created our own yummy little creations. Mine consisted of Double Oreo, Double Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Heath Bar (I know yummy right). My daughter's consisted of Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla, then topped off with Nerds and Fruity Pebbles.
We all sat down to eat our yogurt and about half way through it an annoying little fly started flying around so my youngest daughter started doing what any 4 year old would do. She started flailing her spoon around like a fly swatter attempting to kill the flies. To a 35 year old (like me) this obviously is not the best use of the spoon you are eating with especially when it is covered with frozen yogurt, nerds and fruity pebbles. Sure enough all of these went flying everywhere until we quickly calmed the hilarious chaotic situation.
I went and cleaned myself off and when I got back I looked at Faith and noticed she had gotten frozen yogurt on the front of her shirt. I looked at her and said Faith look what you did you got frozen yogurt on the front of your shirt. She looked up at me with those big beautiful green eyes of hers and said, "I don't care, I can wash it out".
As I sit here tonight those words are ringing in my ears over and over, "I don't care, I can wash it out". The only difference is that it is not the voice of my 4 years old daughter but it is the voice of my savior the Lord Jesus Christ. There are times when I misuse the gifts God has given me much like my daughter did with her yogurt covered spoon. When I do this I make a mess. Sometimes this mess is totally unintentional and other times the mess is because I make a stupid decision and sin. Either way I have come to realize that it is not the end of the world.
There are to many people who are not fulfilling the destiny God has placed on them because they are living in the past and under old mistakes they have made. This is not what God has for you or wants for you and if you listened closely I think you will probably here the voice of God speaking the same words to you that He is to me. "I don't care, I can wash it out".
So tonight lift up your eyes have a new out look and know that God is big enough to wash out all of those little mistakes that you have been wearing for so long.
Thanks for listening
Dream Big
Ben
