Exercise, what a great thing (that is if you continue doing it)!
After 8 months of living in Vegas my wife and I have finally joined a gym. So in other words it has been about 8 months or so since I have worked out. I just finished my first week and man what a week it was.
Now any normal person would have just signed up and gradually worked themselves into a routine. The key word there being 'normal person'. Me on the other hand I went and got myself a trainer, Justine who is one of my friends that is an old football player. The nice thing is he is free, the bad thing is he has no mercy on me. The first two days were not to bad, it is when we got to legs that actually destroyed me. By the time we got done working out I could barely walk down the stairs to get to my car. Then I had to go preach at The Movement that night. For the next 3 days I was in pain.
Here is the point of my story, I think I finally understand what it means in 1 Timothy 4:7 when it says; "exercise yourself unto godliness". It means it is going to be hard work and it is going to be painful. It means that you will be sore some day's and sometimes you will be sore for days. It means if you want to build up your godliness in the proper way you should get a trainer that knows what they are doing so it will hurt a little bit from time to time. The old saying is true, "no pain no gain".
So if in your exorcise routine whether physical or godly you are not experiencing a little pain during the week, maybe it is time to change it up and get yourself a trainer or a mentor or a pastor.
Thanks for listening

PB..Couldn't agree more. Now on the whole "exercise" literally, hmm.. i won't go there..cause i really need to do that. On the "spiritual"side of exercise that you were referring to is so right on. We need accountablility partners, mentors and pastors so much. I know right now, w/ everything going..if it wasn't for them..well yeah.. It's make the fight just a little bit easier to deal w/. God bless and PEACE OUT..
