Bible Reading - Exodus 22, John 1, Job 40, 2 Corinthians 10

It is Him, not a book!

Today I had one of the most powerful prayer times I have had in a while. It all started as I received a text from a friend who was asking for prayer. My reply back was, "praying" and then followed about 10 different quotations from The Bible. After I got done texting all the scriptures to my friend I was so filled with faith and it felt like Jesus was siting right next to me. When I got home from taking the kids to school my wife and I stared to pray together and as we were praying we kept quoting scripture and praying those scriptures. It was so powerful and once again it felt as if Jesus was right in the room with us, and that's because He was.

John 1:1-2; 14 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth". This scripture shows us that the eternal name of Jesus (before he came to earth) is "The Word" and that The Word put on some flesh and dwelt amongst us and became the living word.

When you and I quote scripture we are not quoting some narrative from a book, we are speaking the person of Jesus. When I was praying through the scriptures this morning I was aligning my faith with who Jesus is, and He is the way the truth the life. We need to understand that when I quote scripture I am not just quoting things Jesus said, I am quoting who HE is. When I memorize scripture I am not just memorizing some things Jesus taught but I am learning how he acts in every situation and applying HIM to my life. When I do this the reason I feel like Jesus is right next to me, its because the He is. Its not just words flowing out of my mouth as I speak the Word of God but I am speaking the Living Word of God which is able to transform a situation, person and culture.

This mornings prayer time was so powerful because I was aligning my confession with The Living Word, Jesus Christ. Today take a moment and have the most powerful prayer time you will have. Pray with Jesus sitting right next to you as you speak out and pray the Word of God. It is amazing!!!!!!!

Lets realize today that it is Him, not a book.
