Abundant Grace Even In My Sin

Today's Devotional is a very simple thought that comes to me from Nehemiah chapter 9. In this chapter I am reminded of His abundant grace even in my sin.

Romans 6:1 says, "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?" As we read on in the this chapter we realize the answer is NO we should not continue in sin. Never the less the principle is seen here as well and that is, His grace is still abundant even in my sin. When I mess up and blow it (which of course I try not to do) He is there for me to pick me up and cover me with His grace! Wow what a powerful message of hope and love this truly is.

As you read through Nehemiah 9 (read through it again) you read through an abundance of sins that had been committed against God. Not only did they list their own issues but they listed the sins of those that had gone before them. The evidence mounted up against the people of Israel that they were not worthy to receive forgiveness. The end result though is seen in verse 31, "Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God". This proving once again His abundant grace even in our sin.

There may be a lot of evidence mounting up against you and you may feel like there is no hope. Today take heart and know that all of that evidence according to Colossians 2:14, Jesus has canceled the "record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross". Take heart and know today that His grace is abundant even in your sin.
