Daily Bible Reading - Nehemiah 3, Hosea 13, 1 Thessalonians 1-2
Our Glory and Joy
What do we glory in or have joy in as believers? The people that we bring to Jesus Christ are our glory and joy. 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 says "For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? For you are our glory and joy". To boast means to speak with exaggerated and excessive pride. This is a crazy thought isn't it? When we meet the Lord we will have a crown of boasting, a crown that speaks with exaggerated and excessive pride. That crown is the people that we bring to Christ.
There are so many things that we may find joy in or that we may glory in. It could be the position we have at our job, the house we live in or the friends we surround ourselves with. These are all good things, although we cannot take all these things with us. When we go on to meet with the Lord our job will be left behind along with all of the possessions we have worked so hard for. We can however, take the people that we turn to Christ with us.
The greatest joy we will ever know is the joy of leading someone to Jesus. Proverbs 11:30 says "...And he who wins souls is wise". So let's be wise today and lead someone to Christ. Let our joy and our hope be in those that we are sharing Christ with today.

Great blog. It is interesting that once you have led one person to the Lord, how much easier it is to do the next. Just gotta get outta our minds enough to get the first.
