Like a Child (Mark 10:13-16)

Yesterday I had the joy of seeing my girls for the first time in what seemed to be a very long week. They were away spending time with Grandma and Grandpa on the farm riding the horse, feeding the cows and enjoying the nightly ride on the four wheeler to say goodnight to Nana and Papa who live only a short ride away. They had a fantastic time but boy did I miss them. I arrived at the airport early so I could park and go meet them as they got off the plane. I was a little early so I ended up waiting impatiently to see them.

Finally, I saw them at the top of the escalator. I had difficulty containing my excitement. When they got to the bottom I grabbed them in my arms and did not want to let go. No longer where they miles and miles away, they were where they belong, in my arms.

In our Bible reading today we see little children being brought to Jesus. The disciples attempted to hinder the children from going to Jesus until He corrects them and tells them to bring them to Him. His correction was quit harsh as it says that He was greatly displeased with them.

There was something that the disciples needed to learn from the children, something that each one of us can learn. Jesus says "...whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." (Mark 10:15) Children receive with simple faith.

As adults we often complicate matters and due to past disappointment have difficulty trusting. Jesus is saying to us today, "trust me like a child, have faith that I will take care of you and believe what your Father has promised you". It is time to stop complicating our walk with God, it is time to read what they Bible says and if it says it believe it, then do it.

Run to your heavenly Father today and let Him embrace you, let Him care for you just as a child does. Know that He is a good heavenly father. As you receive from Him as a little child you will certainly enter the kingdom of God.

Tomorrow's Bible Reading - 1 Kings 11, Jeremiah 37, Mark 11

Enjoying the Journey,
Katie

So true, today Hannah saw a homeless man and asked why he was standing on the street with a sign. We said because he doesn't have a home and he needs money. She said, Daddy stop! We need to give him money! We have money! Her mind was so simple - he needs money, we have money, we need to give some to him. So sweet.
