Hello World! Well Movement here I am. I never thought I would do anything like this but I decided to step out and give you all a snap shot into my life as a Pastor. I debated on doing one for just the Movement but I can do that directly on our website so here I go. (Get used to the typos because there are going to be a lot of them, but it is not my fault I was born in Holland).
I woke up this morning at 4:16am. Why at such an ungodly hour you ask? Well it is now 5:30am and I am still trying to figure that one out too. I think I am a bit closer to figuring it out with each minute that passes. You see God speaks to me at wierd times (so maybe it is not such an ungodly hour). He also speaks to me in unusual ways. He speaks to me in numbers. So I have trained myself to look at the clock the minute I wake up and ask God, "God what are you saying to me"? And this is what He said to me. "Fourth book of the Bible and the 16th chapter". Being the intuitive pastor that I am and having read the Bible a time or two. I knew that the forth book of the Bible is Numbers and the that the 16th chapter was really the 16th chapter (told you I was intuitive - whatever that word means). So I turned there and began to read. I got to verses 41-50 and God began to speak to me very clearly.
In these verses you read about how God is displeased because people are coming against His anointed ones and in essence coming against His plan and purpose. He is so displeased that he tells Moses and Aaron (His anointed leaders) to step back so He can destroy the people that are coming against them. Moses and Aaron so move with Godly fear and love for their people begin to do something about the plague that is now being released upon the people. The Bible says that Aaron took fire from the ALTAR and ran out and made atonement for people. The Bible says that on that day Aaron stood between the dead and the living and the plague was stopped.
As you read this portion of scripture there are many great sermons and principles that you can gather from it, but this is what God spoke to me. He spoke to me about LOVE. Moses and Aaron loved the people and the plan of God so much that they were willing to risk their lives to stop the plague of fire that had gone out against the people who were angry with Moses and Aaron. They could have just let the people get destroyed but they did not because of Love. God spoke to me and said, "Ben do you love my plan and people?" My initial response was YAH, I love both of them a lot, but the old saying is true - Actions speak louder than words.
Actions really do speak louder than words so here is the question I purposed to myself. Could I do what Moses and Aaron did? Or I should say do I do what Moses and Aaron did, do I love those that do not love me am I reaching out to them, my word do I even truly love the ones that love me?
Right now (as of 4:16am) I am in a season of learning what it is to love God, His plan and people more. As 1 Corinthians 13 says I could do a lot of things and say a lot of things but if I do not have love it all means nothing.
So the next time I see you, look out because there is a big hug coming your way.
Dream Big and Stay in Motion
